Mission Statement
Gregory Stapleton for Memphis City Council – District 7
Why Gregory Stapleton? Gregory Stapleton is an exceptional candidate for Memphis city council-District 7. Gregory Stapleton represents the kind of principled, community driven leadership that District 7 deserves. Although born and raised in Chicago, Gregory relocated to Memphis six years ago and has since fallen deeply in love with the city- it's people, it's culture and its potential. In that time, he has fully immersed himself in community service, learning the heartbeat of Memphis and dedicating himself to meaningful, measurable impact.
During these six years, Gregory Stapleton founded Crazy Faith Community Development Corporation and Greater Impact Faith Church, two organizations committed to strengthening families, empowering communities and bringing hope and resources to underserved areas. Through these effort, he has worked to create pathway for growth, stability and opportunity throughout the district 7 and beyond.
Empowering Economic Growth
I will champion economic development that creates sustainable jobs, supports small businesses, expands access to resources, and builds pathways for generational wealth. Economic empowerment is not optional—it is essential to advancing our district’s future.
Expanding Affordable, Stable Housing
Every family deserves a safe, affordable place to call home. I will work to increase quality housing options, protect longtime residents from displacement, and bring revitalization without sacrificing the heart of our neighborhoods.
Building Safe & Thriving Communities
True public safety is built on trust, prevention, collaboration, and opportunity. I will advocate for programs that invest in youth, support families, expand mental-health resources, and strengthen relationships between communities and city services.
Investing in Our Young People & Seniors
Our future depends on our youth, and our wisdom lives in our seniors. I will support expanded youth programming, after-school opportunities, and senior services that ensure every generation can thrive with dignity and respect.
Revitalizing Infrastructure
District 7 deserves clean streets, bright lights, maintained parks, and reliable city services. I will push for infrastructure investment that reflects the pride and potential of our communities.
Accountable, Accessible Leadership
I believe leadership is a service—not a title. I will maintain an open, transparent, and responsive office so every resident knows their concerns matter and their voice is heard.
Why I’m Running
I am stepping forward because District 7 is at a critical turning point. Our community needs leadership that is engaged, present, and willing to challenge the status quo. I am committed to building bridges, healing divides, and creating systems that work for every family—not just a select few.
This is more than a campaign. It is a commitment to uplift a district full of history, potential, talent, and heart. I am ready to carry the mantle forward, honor the progress of those before me, and deliver the transformational change our community deserves.
Because love is what love does—and District 7 deserves leadership that loves through action.
